Motorists Warned to be Aware of Caribou on Northern Peninsula Roads

Motorists on the Northern Peninsula between St. Anthony Airport and Eddies Cove, the Cook’s Harbour roadway, and the roadway between St. Anthony Airport and the Town of Main Brook are being warned to be on the lookout for caribou.

A significant number of caribou are currently active in these areas. As a result, there is an increased risk of caribou-vehicle collisions.

These animals are expected to remain in the region throughout the remainder of the fall and during the upcoming winter.
