Grand Bank MHA Carol Anne Haley has stepped down as the Minister for the Status of Women and Chief Government Whip.

Haley will continue to represent the district of Grand Bank but will not seek re-election.

Premier-designate Dr. Andrew Furey thanked Haley for her service to the people of the province as a cabinet minister.

Haley was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in the 2015 provincial election.

On November 8, 2018, she was promoted to cabinet as Minister Responsible for the Status of Women.

She was re-elected in the 2019 provincial election defeating former MHA and MP Bill Matthews.
