Minister Davis Announces Funding for Community Waste Diversion Projects

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Bernard Davis announced the 2024 recipients of the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board’s Community Waste Diversion Fund.

Grants totalling over $162,000 have been provided to 17 projects, in support of sustainable waste management in communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Town of Harbour Main-Chapel’s Cove-Lakeview received $21,683 from the Community Waste Diversion Fund.

The Community Waste Diversion Fund provides funding to municipalities and local service districts for the implementation of community initiatives that create opportunities to divert more waste from landfills. This year’s recipients include projects focused on: food waste diversion, community composting, yard waste diversion and reduction of single use plastics.
