Mayor Avenue at Newtown Road closed as RNC responds to serious collision

At around 1:32 a.m. last night, the RNC responded to a serious single-vehicle rollover accident in the area of Mayor Avenue at Newtown Road.

This is an active investigation as the RNC Accident Investigation Unit and the RNC Forensic Identification Section are on scene at this time.

Mayor Avenue between Newtown Road and Empire Avenue will remain closed for an extended period of time.

Newfoundland Power is also on scene dealing with a power pole down.
