Man wanted in Corner Brook bear spray assault arrested: RNC

A 40-year-old man wanted in connection with an alleged bear spray assault in Corner Brook has been arrested, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says.
Police responded to a disturbance at a home on March 14, where a person was reportedly assaulted using bear spray. Two suspects had fled the scene before officers arrived, and arrest warrants were later issued.
The RNC says Todd Barry was located and arrested without incident on April 1 by its Criminal Investigation Division, with assistance from the RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation West.
Barry faces charges of assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance and uttering threats. He remains in custody pending a court appearance.
Police say a second accused, 21-year-old Joshua Roberts, was arrested on March 20 with assistance from the RNC Tactics and Rescue Unit.
The RNC is asking anyone who witnesses suspicious activity to report it by calling 709-637-4100 or 911 in the case of emergencies. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
