Man tased after robbery and fighting police

Just before 7:00 pm on Saturday the RNC responded to a call of a robbery at the Avalon Mall.

Police in the area then observed the accused running on Kenmount Road.

When officers caught up with the 26-year-old male, he then decided to fight police in an attempt to escape. Officers deployed their Tasers, and the male was taken into custody.

He faces charges of; Robbery, Assault with a weapon on a Police Officer, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breaching court orders.

The officers were not injured in the incident.
