Man in custody after barricading himself in a residence in Parsons Pond
A 38-year-old man has been taken into custody after barricading himself in a residence in Parsons Pond on Sunday afternoon.
Officers were informed that a man had damaged a residence, made threats to damage another property and barricaded himself inside the home refusing to exit.
The man also made threats towards the police should they attend the home.
Responding officers set up a safety perimeter and the RCMP Critical Incident Command unit was engaged.
Following negotiations, the man exited the residence shortly after midnight and surrendered himself to police without further incident.
The man remains in custody and the investigation is continuing.
