In the early morning hours on Thursday, Officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) responded to suspicious activity in the parking lot of a hotel in downtown St. John’s. Hotel staff called police to report that a male was breaking into vehicles. Officers arrived on scene and located the male as he was attempting to break into a vehicle.
The 44-year-old male fled on foot and, after a brief foot pursuit, he was arrested for mischief,
possession of a break-in instrument, breach of court orders and resisting arrest. Officers also
determined that a warrant of arrest was in effect for the male.
The male was conveyed to the St. John’s City Lock Up.
