Man facing a litany of charges after St. John's arrest

The RNC arrested a wanted individual after a lengthy foot pursuit through the downtown core of St. John's on Wednesday.

Police also seized a number of illegal drugs, cash and a loaded firearm.

The man is now facing a total of 15 charges. The charges are related to possession including possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and methylphenidate.

Several firearms charges were also laid including careless use of a firearm, breach of firearm regulations, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession a weapon with ammunition, possession of a firearm with an altered or defaced firearm.

The man was also charged with resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

The accused was held to appear in court.
