Man faces a list of charges after fleeing police in St. John's
On Saturday afternoon the RNC attempted to conduct a traffic safety stop on a vehicle in the downtown area of St John’s.
The driver refused to stop for police and fled the area at a high rate of speed.
Police were quick to locate the vehicle a short distance away where it was stopped.
The driver once again attempted to escape, this time on foot, but was apprehended by officers.
Now the 44-year-old male driver is facing charges of Impaired Driving, Impaired refusal, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, hit and run, flight from police, and driving while suspended.
The driver was also ticketed for expired registration and open liquor in a vehicle.
The accused was held for court and his vehicle was impounded.
