Man charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose in Mooring Cove

The RCMP have arrested 35-year-old Adam Hillier of Mooring Cove on Saturday after he allegedly threatened another man with a weapon.

On Saturday morning the RCMP received the report from a man who advised he was chased and threatened by Hillier, while Hillier was holding a sword. Threats were made to harm the man and burn down his property.

Police responded and arrested Hillier without incident. A search warrant was obtained and police located and seized a homemade sword, as well as another homemade weapon.

Hillier now faces charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death, and uttering threats to damage property.

He was held to appear in court over the weekend and was released from custody on conditions.
