Man charged with assault following early morning disturbance in St. John’s

A 19-year-old man is facing an assault charge after police responded to a disturbance in the east end of St. John’s early Thursday morning.

According to police, officers with Operational Patrol Services were called to a residence at approximately 2 a.m. on April 30. Upon arrival, officers found a woman with facial injuries.

Her son was arrested at the scene without incident. The 19-year-old was taken to the St. John’s lockup and charged with assault.
