Man charged with assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement after incident in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s

A 34-year-old man is facing charges after police responded to a call for assistance at a residence in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s on Friday morning.


The RNC were called to the residence at approximately 10:10 a.m. on June 26.


Following an investigation, officers arrested the man and transported him to the St. John’s city lockup, where he was held to appear in court.


The man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement.


Police have not released any additional details about the incident.
