Man charged after robbery in Downtown St. John’s

A 47-year-old man is facing several charges following a robbery in downtown St. John’s on Thursday night.
Around 8:40 p.m. on September 25, RNC officers responded to the incident. Officers located the suspect in a nearby park, but police say he resisted arrest and began fighting with officers.
Additional officers arrived at the scene, and the man was eventually taken into custody.
He was transported to the St. John’s lockup and charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting arrest, and breach of probation.
