Man charged after RCMP cocaine and cash seizure

RCMP arrested 56-year-old Alain Binet of Happy Valley-Goose Bay after responding to a disturbance at a local hotel on March 19.

Police arrived at the hotel room, located Binet inside the room, which was significantly damaged, and observed drug paraphernalia. Binet was arrested and taken into custody.

A quantity of cash, suspected cocaine and items consistent with drug trafficking were located and seized.

Binet is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and mischief (damage to property) over $5000.00. He was later released by police on conditions and is set to appear in court on July 26, 2021.
