The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has charged a man following a disturbance at a daycare on Monday morning.

Around 9:58 a.m. on September 29, 2025, officers with Operational Patrol Services responded to reports of a man damaging property at the facility. Police say the suspect, who is known to them, was found carrying a piece of wood and threatened officers upon their arrival.

Two windows at the daycare were damaged, and the building had been vandalized with a marker. Police allege the man threatened both staff and officers, at one point stating he would shoot them and use his belt as a weapon.

The man was taken into custody and held to appear in court. He is charged with mischief, causing a disturbance, assault with a weapon, three counts of uttering threats, and breaching a release order.
