On February 12th, 2026 at approximately 5:38 p.m. members with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of Old Placentia Road in Mount Pearl.

The vehicle who fled from police was being operated by an individual wanted on outstanding warrants. A Suspect Apprehension Pursuit was initiated once the vehicle failed to stop for Police. The pursuit was quickly terminated due to concerns for public safety.

Police say a short time later, the suspect vehicle was located at a residence in Mt. Pearl. Following an investigation, the 35 year old male driver was arrested and charged with: Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Operation of a Conveyance while Prohibited, and Breach of Probation.

He was held to appear in Provincial Court in the morning.
