Man charged after downtown St. John’s assault

A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged following an assault in downtown St. John’s on Thursday morning.

RNC responded at about 9:35 a.m. on Thursday, to a report of an assault in the downtown area.

Police said that following an investigation, a 28-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of a release order.

The man was held in custody and was scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
