Man charged after assaulting a police officer

On Saturday evening around 9:00 pm, the RNC responded to a business in the center city area of St. John's after a report of an unwelcomed person.

After conducting a brief investigation a man was charged.

A 59-year-old male was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

The male was held for a court appearance in the morning.
