Man charged after assault at downtown St. John's business

A 29-year-old man has been charged following an alleged assault at a downtown business late Wednesday night.

RNC responded to a report of an assault around 10 p.m. on Feb. 25. The suspect had left the scene before officers arrived, but was located a short time later.

The man was arrested and charged with assault and breaching a release order. Police say he was held in custody to appear in court this morning.

The victim suffered minor injuries.
