Man carrying knife arrested downtown

On Monday afternoon, RNC officers were conducting patrols in the downtown area of St. John’s when they came upon two suspicious males exiting a residential driveway.

It was determined that one of the males was in breach of his release order by failing to abide by his court ordered curfew. As a result, the 34 year old male was arrested. However, a subsequent search of his person located a knife which he was also on conditions not to possess.

The male was charged with breach of release order and held to appear in court in the morning.
