On Monday evening around 6:20 pm, the RNC received a report of a disturbance at a business in the west end of St. John’s.

Once police arrived on the scene, the male suspect immediately ran at the officer kicking and punching.

The officer was struck in the face.

The officer was able to take the 26-year-old man into custody. The officer was uninjured and the man was held at the city lock-up to appear in court on two charges of assault, assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, uttering threats, and causing a disturbance.
