Man arrested following high risk traffic stop in St. John's

On Friday evening, the RNC received a complaint from a citizen indicating he thought he was shot at in the area of Clancy Drive near Quidi Vidi Lake. The caller gave police a description of the vehicle and the occupants involved.
Officers located the vehicle on Freshwater Road and conducted a high risk traffic stop.
At that time, officers observed a 30-year-old male throw four small bags of suspected Cocaine and a pair of brass knuckles out the window. Police located the objects in question.
The accused was arrested for possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
The accused was taken to the city lockup.
