Man arrested following firearms investigation

The RCMP have arrested 39 year old Michael Melnychuk of Conception Bay South following a firearms investigation.

Melnychuk is facing 24 charges including Four counts of importation of a prohibited device, four counts of importation of a prohibited device without lawful authority, eight counts of possession of a prohibited device without license, and eight counts of a prohibited device knowing without license.

The investigation began in April 2023 after the CBSA alerted the RCMP that it had intercepted and seized eight firearms suppressors destined for Melynchuk’s home in Conception Bay South.
