Man arrested following crash on Northern Peninsula

The RCMP arrested a 48-year-old man from Port aux Choix for impaired driving after a single-vehicle crash on Route 430 on Saturday evening.
Port Saunders RCMP received a report of the crash on the highway at approximately 9:00 pm.
Responding officers observed that the driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and he was suspended from driving.
The man became aggressive towards police and assaulted and uttered threats to an officer and resisted arrest.
He was taken into police custody and was transported to the detachment. He provided breath samples that were nearly twice the legal limit.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
His driver’s licence was further suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
