Man arrested after violent altercation in Labrador City

The RNC in Labrador City is investigating a violent altercation which occurred in the community yesterday.

On Sunday morning at approximately 11:00 am, RNC responded to a report of a disturbance that had just occurred at an IGA location on Humber Avenue.

When officers arrived they located two males who were believed to be involved in the altercation.

Both males had sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The injured males were transported to Labrador Grenfell Health by ambulance in order to obtain medical assistance.

Police are seeking any witnesses, or any video in the area prior to 11:00 am on Sunday.

A 40-year-old male from Labrador City has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused has been released and will appear in court at a later date.
