Man arrested after threatening officers with weapon

A 48-year-old man was arrested after an incident in downtown St. John’s.

When officers arrived at the scene, they were approached by an unrelated male who threatened to harm them with a weapon.

The man was arrested and charged with uttering threats and breach of a probation order.

Police also determined that the man was wanted under a warrant for failing to appear in court. An additional charge of failure to appear was added and the male was held for court.
