Man Arrested After Smashing Window of St. John’s Residence

A 44-year-old man was arrested Sunday night after police responded to a report of a suspicious person on Blackmarsh Road in St. John’s.

RNC officers were called to the area at approximately 9:45 p.m. on July 19.

As officers arrived, they reported hearing glass breaking and someone calling out for help. Police then observed a man using a large tree branch to smash the front window of a residence.

The 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with property damage. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. John’s lockup.
