A 49-year-old man has been arrested following a slow-speed police pursuit in St. John’s on Saturday morning.
The incident began around 9:25 a.m. on Higgins Line when an officer attempted to stop a vehicle. The driver failed to comply and continued driving at very low speeds, prompting officers to initiate a pursuit.
Police say the driver pulled over twice during the incident, but fled again each time as the officer exited their vehicle.
The situation came to an end when the driver stopped for a third time, and the officer positioned their police vehicle to prevent the suspect from leaving.
The man was arrested at the scene and charged with flight from police. He was taken to the St. John’s lockup, and the vehicle involved was impounded.
