Man arrested after seen walking on George Street with a firearm

Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, the RNC responded to a business on George Street in St. John’s following a report of a weapons offence in progress.

Police received information that a male was seen walking in the area with a firearm on his person.

Officers attended the scene and spoke with staff and witnesses at the business. Following further investigation, a 21-year-old male was arrested and charged with breaching his release order.

He was held in custody to appear in court in the morning.
