Man arrested after robbery at Gander Walmart

RCMP responded to an armed robbery in Gander on Friday morning.

A man, who was allegedly departing the store with a cart load of stolen merchandise, pulled a knife out on employees who were trying to intercept him as he was leaving the store.

Employees backed away and the man departed on foot.

The 24-year-old was quickly located by police on a nearby wooded trail and was arrested.

The accused now faces charges of robbery with an offensive weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and possession of stolen property.
