Man arrested after reported assault in Mount Pearl

A 37-year-old man has been arrested following a reported assault at a residence in Mount Pearl on Wednesday evening.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a call of an assault in progress at about 8:03 p.m.

Police said they located a woman at the home who had sustained injuries.

Following an investigation, officers arrested a man at the scene. He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and resisting arrest.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
