Man arrested after indecent act in Gander

The RCMP has made an arrest in connection to an indecent act committed against a youth in Gander.

Police have arrested 24-year-old Tyler Thompson.

The arrest stems from a report made on September 22 where a youth who was walking home from school, had been approached by a man driving a red Dodge Journey. The man, who was naked from the waist down, asked the youth to enter his vehicle. The youth ran away and reported the incident.

On Thursday the accused was identified and was arrested.

He attended court on Friday and was remanded into custody. He faces charges of Invitation to sexual touching, Indecent Act (Public nudity), and Exposing genitals for a sexual purpose to a person under the age of 16 years.

The investigation is continuing.
