Man arrested after home invasion in St. John's


The RNC responded to a report that a male had entered a private residence attempting to injure the occupants with a weapon in the center city area of St. John's on Sunday evening.


When officers arrived they observed a male running from the area with a number of items he had taken from the residence.


Within minutes, the suspect was apprehended.


The 21-year-old was charged with uttering threats, break and entry, two counts of assault with a weapon, common assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, breach of court orders, four counts of uttering threats, resisting arrest, and escaping lawful custody.


The accused will appear in court this morning.
