Man arrested after home invasion in Corner Brook

The RNC in Corner Brook has made an arrest following a home invasion that happened on Thursday.

On Thursday, police were called to a home on Carter Avenue. Two suspects gained entry to the residence, assaulted the male resident of the home, and fled the home with several valuable items.

The resident of the home sustained minor injuries.

At approximately 9:20 pm police arrested one male following a traffic stop on West Street.

The 38-year-old has been charged with break and enter, assault, forcible confinement, theft and breach of a court order. The accused was held in custody to appear in court.

At this time the second suspect remains at large.

This is believed to be a targeted event.
