Man Arrested After Hitting Two RNC Officers With Vehicle in Corner Brook #nltraffic

Police have charged a man after an incident in Corner Brook yesterday.

On Friday morning RNC conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle illegally parked in the Westside area of the city.

During the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle drove away striking two police officers and fled the area.

The vehicle was later located in the Curling area of the city. As officers approached the suspect, he drove away and fled the area. Officers once again attempted to locate the vehicle but were unsuccessful.

This afternoon the suspect was located in Deer Lake by RCMP officers.

The accused was arrested without incident and turned over to the RNC. The accused remains in custody and will appear in court tomorrow.

He has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Assaulting a Police Officer with a Weapon, in this case, a Vehicle and Flight from Police.

The officers involved were not injured.
