Man arrested after fleeing traffic stop

At 3:45 am this morning the RNC attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the west end of St. John’s, but the vehicle fled away at a high rate of speed.

A short time later the same vehicle was observed by another officer and the occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22 yr old male, was tracked by K9 and apprehended by officers. The male was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a

vehicle, and resisting arrest, his vehicle was seized, and he was released to appear in court at a later date.
