Man arrested after downtown robbery

A victim sustained minor injuries after a robbery and assault in downtown St. John's at 4:15 p.m. yesterday.

Police located and arrested a 20-year-old male nearby for robbery with violence.

The man did not go quietly. He is accused of assaulting officers and damaging the police vehicle.

He is charged with Robbery, Assaulting a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Property Damage and Breach of Probation. He was held to appear in court.
