Man arrested after crash in Bay Roberts

A 79-year-old man has been arrested for impaired driving after refusing to provide a breath sample.

Police were called to a report of a crash on Pickett’s Road in Bay Roberts on Wednesday night.

Officers attended the scene and spoke to the driver who showed signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested for impaired driving, was transported to the detachment and refused to provide breath samples.

He now faces charges of impaired driving and refusing to comply with a demand for a breath sample.

The accused was released from custody and is set to attend court at a later date. His licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
