Man arrested after barricading himself in home on Prospero Place in St. John’s

The RNC arrested a 38-year-old man after an incident on Prospero Place in St. John’s.

On Thursday evening officers responded to a barricaded person complaint.

RNC Crisis Negotiators established and maintained communication with the individual until approximately 8:40 am this morning.

It was then that the RNC Tactics and Rescue Unit apprehended the individual and placed him in custody without incident.

The accused has been arrested and charged with unlawfully in a dwelling, assault, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, mischief and breaches of a court order.

The man was held to appear in court. The investigation is continuing.
