Man arrested after assaulting paramedic

On Saturday afternoon the RNC responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Mount Pearl.

Responding officers located a 59-year-old male who appeared to have injured himself.

An ambulance was requested to provide medical attention. The male became aggressive towards first responders and assaulted one of the paramedics.

As a result, the male was arrested and charged with Assault and Breach of Release Order.

Once medically cleared, the male was held to appear in court.
