Man arrested after assault in St. John's

Just before 8:30 p.m. last night, the RNC responded to a report of an assault in progress at a residence in the east end of St. John’s.

When police arrived, the suspect had left, and police were unable to locate the 38 year old male suspect. Several hours later, police responded to an address in the west end of St. John’s after the female victim reported that the male had arrived at and entered the residence she was staying in.

The 38 year old man was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Assault by Choking and Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm.

He was held to appear in Provincial Court.
