Man arrested after assault at Health Sciences Centre

A 29-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an alleged assault at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday evening.
The RNC responded to a report of an assault in progress at the hospital at approximately 7:56 p.m. on May 13. Officers spoke with the complainant and several witnesses, who identified a male suspect.
Police searched the area but were initially unable to locate the man. He was later found during a separate call for service in the area of Topsail Road.
The suspect was arrested without incident and has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, causing a disturbance, breach of a release order and breach of probation.
He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court.
