Man arrested after armed robbery in Corner Brook

Early on Christmas Day the RNC in Corner Brook arrested and charged a male after an armed robbery.

At 10:50 pm on Christmas Eve officers responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at a business on West Street in Corner Brook.

A man had entered a business yielding an axe and stole property from the business before fleeing on foot.

Officers located the suspect on a residential street in the Townsite area and he was arrested by police without incident. The weapon and stolen property were recovered.

The 49-year-old male has been charged with Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.
