Man arrested after armed robbery at Mount Pearl service station

A 34-year-old man has been charged following an armed robbery at a service station in Mount Pearl on Tuesday evening.
Police say officers with Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a robbery at about 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 24. After arriving in the area, officers located a man matching the suspect description walking in a nearby subdivision.
The man was arrested, and a subsequent search allegedly found an edged weapon.
He was taken to lockup and charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.
