June Holiday City Schedule and National Indigenous Peoples Day


Monday, June 21 is a holiday for most government operations.


In the City of St. John's, offices and facilities will be closed. The weekly City Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 22 at 3:00 pm.

  • Garbage and recycling will be collected on Monday.

  • The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is open for commercial users only from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Paid parking regulations will be enforced, as Monday is not a Shops Closing Holiday.

  • Public washrooms will be open at Bannerman Park, Bowring Park and Quidi Vidi Lake.

  • All recreation facilities will be closed.

  • Access St. John’s is available to residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 311 or 709-754-CITY (2489) or online.

Residents are encouraged to recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day. Several events are taking place. More information can be found here.


The ‘St. John’s Days’ community events that formerly took place during this time of year have been discontinued.
