Judicial Recounts for Topsail-Paradise taking place today

Last week, the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador granted a judicial recount for the electoral district of Topsail-Paradise, arising from the October 14, 2025, Provincial General Election.

The recount will begin at 10:30 a.m. today at the Supreme Court in St. John’s.

The judge will certify the results to the Returning Officer of the electoral district of Topsail-Paradise, who shall then declare the candidate with the greatest number of votes to be elected.

Results will be announced within two days after the recount or final addition.

In the last election, Progressive Conservative candidate Paul Dinn received 3,031 votes and Liberal candidate Dan Bobbett received 2,929 votes, a difference of just 102 votes.
