Jim Dinn announces leadership run
Jim Dinn has announced that he is running for the leadership of the provincial NDP Party.
First elected to the House of Assembly in the 2019 provincial election, the 63-year-old represents the district of St. John's Centre. He was re-elected in the 2021 general election.
Dinn had previously said that he was not going to seek the leadership position.
Before entering politics, Dinn served as president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association and had also served on the executive board of the Canadian Teachers' Federation. He also served as president of the Salmonid Association of Eastern Newfoundland.
