Jerry Springer dies at the age of 79


Jerry Springer has died at the age of 79.


He was known best for his long-running television show "The Jerry Springer Show".


The broadcaster was a journalist, actor, producer, former lawyer, and politician.


Springer served as the 56th Mayor of Cincinnati from 1977 to 1978.


Springer died at his home in Chicago, Illinois.


A family spokesperson said Springer had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few months ago.
