Influenza cases are rising rapidly

Health Canada says indicators of influenza activity are increasing rapidly across the country.

Indicators of COVID-19 activity are stable, and indicators of RSV activity are showing signs of increase.

The age groups seeing the largest increase in influenza activity are those between the ages of five and 19 and those 65 years of age and older.

The percentage of tests positive for influenza in Atlantic Canada was 16.5 percent. The percentage of tests positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 in Newfoundland and Labrador was 3.1 percent. The percentage of tests positive for respiratory syncytial virus in Atlantic Canada was 1.4 percent.
